Photos taken Monday during the drive on SR190, the Sherman Pass Road, which, if you'll read top of the prev post, may not open for a while. This drive up Tule Creek seemed to be popular even though the road was closed 16 miles past Pierpont Springs. Note the aquaduct, which apparently starts at the Wishon Fork Powerhouse.
While the Tule looks fishable, there are two problems: 1)the season isn't open yet, & 2)even if you catch something, it's a tough, hot climb back up to the road. [Of course, if you're a young whippersnapper, that's not a problem.]
Pierpoint Springs, which was open. As you can see it also has 5 or 6 motel rooms which are likely in demand by flatlanders during the heat of the summer in the San Joaquin Valley.
