Van Horn to Pecos, Texas

Fort Stockton, TX, Library

From the Rest Area (or Safety Rest Area, as the TDOT calls it) c5 miles east of Van Horn; looking north.

    Panning left...the Baylor Mountains.

Looking back toward Van Horn and the Sierra Diablo Mtns farther to the west.

Most of the mountains in Texas, at least so far, tend to be rounded; however, these two peaks in the Davis Mts of Jeff Davis County looked different.

On the right, Gomez Pk (6398'); and on the left, Newman Pk (6650').
