    I stopped at the Bryan Library and squeezed into their parking lot. While the library had no info on Edon resident Richard Lamar Lemmon the LDS Family History facility was able to tell me they had no obituary for Lamar. And a look in the phone books provided his home address.

    Lamar is standing next to his wife's car. He collects antique tractors, raises Shetland ponies, and works nearly full-time in his late 70s.
    Lamar's horses are not Shetlands. Here's what he wrote in an e-mail, "I have one correction for you though; I do not have Shetlands. I have registered Miniature horses. Miniature is in fact a breed the same as Shetland is a breed. Shetlands are sturdier and can take heavier loads on their legs than the Miniatures. I learned about the Miniature breed and their uses from the Leader Horse For The Blind. The real small Miniatures you would see on TV are dwarf miniature horses. They can not be registered. They don't live a long life as well."
